Student Poster Abstracts Due September 1st 2023 for Scholarship Awards

We welcome you to submit poster presentation abstracts for the 2023 Sustainable Stormwater Symposium Student Poster Competition hosted by the Oregon Section of ASCE-EWRG. The Symposium will be held September 20th & 21st 2023 at OMSI. 

The Symposium features a plenary format of technical sessions arranged on common topic areas to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration in the stormwater industry.

Speaker sessions on the first day (20th) will be followed by a happy hour. The student posters will be ranked by attendees at the happy hour. Scholarship awards will be presented at the symposium on the second day (21st).

• Best Graduate Student Poster: $2,500

• Best Undergraduate Student Poster: $2,500

• Audience Favorite: $1,000

We encourage poster abstracts to consider the general topics noted below, however other topics relating to stormwater science, water resources, environmental science,  and engineering will be considered as well.

• Integrated watershed planning and management

• Co-benefits quantification methods and triple bottom line approaches
• Stormwater modeling and decision support tools
• O&M requirements, costs, and tracking for stormwater assets
• Stormwater and BMP monitoring

Poster Abstracts will be evaluated based on the applicability of the subject matter presented and technical quality. Poster Abstracts are due by 5 pm PST on September 1st, 2023. Poster Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words. Please register with your student email if possible. Please feel free to share this announcement with others.

If your poster abstract is selected, then you must also register for the symposium through general registration. You will be provided a discount code before registering in order to wave the fee.

The Symposium is also looking for a limited number of student volunteers. These volunteers will assist with the registration table and the bicycle tour as able. Student volunteers will receive free registration to the symposium. Please contact registration@stormwatersymposium.org if you are interested in volunteering.
