The Oregon Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers Environment and Water Resources Group (ASCE-EWRG) and the Oregon Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) is proud to present the 3rd Sustainable Stormwater Symposium in Portland, Oregon, a national green infrastructure leader. The purpose of the Symposium is to provide stormwater professionals an elevated understanding of current stormwater planning, design, and implementation approaches.

An impressive line up of regionally and nationally known experts will present on a variety of innovative topics pertinent to the stormwater challenges of the Pacific Northwest including Tracy Tackett, P.E., Robert Pitt, Ph.D., P.E., and Scott Wells, Ph.D., P.E.

Attendees will be immersed in Portland’s sustainable culture by experiencing a conference held at the World Trade Center, and by visiting Portland’s nationally recognized green infrastructure by bike and pedicab.

Who Should Attend?

A wide range of individuals interested in the stormwater field are invited to attend including consultants, municipalities, state and federal professionals, researchers, equipment and technology vendors, and students.

If you are an Oregon APWA member you can apply for a scholarship!  Four are available and the recipients will receive free admission to the Symposium!  Click here to fill out the application, but hurry because the deadline is September 7th, 2012.

Professional Development Hours:

Professional development hours (PDHs) for professional engineers and surveyors are available through the Oregon State Board of Examiners for Engineering and Land Surveying (OSBEELS). A form to document PDHs will be provided with the registration packet. Other professionals may appeal to their respective boards to obtain professional education credits.

Poster Session and Happy Hour - September 19, 2012 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

A poster session and happy hour will take place in the evening of the first day at the World Trade Center’s atrium. The poster session and happy hour will provide an additional opportunity for attendees to learn about specific stormwater technologies and projects, while networking among peers and colleagues. Bike-BMP-n-Brew (B3) Tour - September 20, 2012 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM

In the afternoon and evening of the second day of the Symposium, attendees will enjoy a true Portland experience by exploring the City’s many innovative green infrastructure facilities by bike. To end the event in true Portland style, our last stop will be at The Green Dragon for refreshments and snacks. The B3 Tour is included with the Symposium registration fee.
